Kings Creek Alpacas
![]()
We are situated in Beckwith Township, just beyond the southwestern city limits of Ottawa. Kings Creek Alpacas is surrounded by the communities of Kanata, Carleton Place, Perth, Almonte and Smiths Falls.
We are Ian and Sandra Fredette of Kings Creek Alpacas. We had always wanted to move to the country and in 2004 with our daughter all grown and on her own we began to look for our country home.
We came across 45 acres in Ashton. It was love at first sight as we drove around the corner of the driveway. There was plenty of room for Ian to build a woodworking shop.
Our friends and family asked if we planned to get into farming. Sounded like that might be a good idea.
Years before at one of the local fairs we came across and fell in love with a cute little alpaca. We began to investigate the idea, spending hours on the computer and going on a few farm visits.
Ian has been a Crane Operator for more than 20 years. Sandra has worked at an Ottawa hospital for more than 31 years as an Occupational Therapy Assistant and later in Clerical Administration.
We have two dogs, three cats, one daughter and two grand-kids.
Our dream was to eventually retire and start our little alpaca farm. The realities of our dreams are starting to come true, although we still have 2 years till retirement.
We spent the first 9 months of 2008 clearing land, fencing and putting up a barn, shelter and getting water and electricity installed through one of the wettest years on record.
We bought our first alpaca, Victory's Goldie from Brian Riff of Victory Farm Alpacas. With Brian's help and guidance we are progressing with our foundation herd.
Our first four alpacas arrived home on October 1st. Two mothers with cria at their side arrived on October 26th. Ring Ranch Margarita arrived from Saskatoon on November 10th.
Our Adventure begins!
Our goal here at Kings Creek Alpacas is to breed dual registered top of the line Huacaya alpacas. We will strive to improve quality of fleece and to produce conformational correct, happy, healthy alpacas.......Criating Royalty!
